Meet our Team

Simply Surgery was founded in 2024 by three friends who saw a gap in study resources for medical students preparing for surgical cases during their clerkships. We set out to create comprehensive videos that integrate anatomy, pathophysiology, history and physical exam findings, operative steps, and more—making it easier for students to study efficiently. With a team that blends medical and non-medical expertise, we create content for a wide audience, including medical students, patients and their families, and anyone curious about what happens in the operating room.

Co-Founder

Nico Goff

Nico Goff is a third-year medical student interested in neurosurgery and a co-founder of Simply Surgery. He plays a key role in developing our strategic vision as well as scripting, editing, and voice narration, helping to bring surgical education to life through engaging and accessible content. Drawing from his own experience navigating surgical rotations, he is dedicated to streamlining case preparation and making complex topics more approachable.

Spencer Sartin

Spencer Sartin is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a professional background spanning multiple industries. As a cancer survivor, Spencer is deeply committed to advancing broader accessibility in medical education. In his co-founder role, he contributes to editing, scripting research, surgical walkthrough narration, and company strategy.

Katrianna Urrea is a second-year medical student interested in obstetrics & gynecology and orthopaedic surgery. As co-founder of Simply Surgery, she plays a key role in scripting and editing educational content while leading outreach efforts. Dedicated to making surgical rotation preparation more accessible and approachable, she strives to empower her peers with high-yield, engaging learning resources.
